For the very first time in the history of the Beach Soccer championship in Nigeria, the organizers of the Copa Lagos, Kinetic Sports have decided to allow the participation of four club teams in this year’s Beach Soccer championship in Lagos.
Famous amongst the teams are FC Barcelona Beach Soccer team who will be visiting the Eko Atlantic City for the first time this December.
Founded in 2011, the Copa Lagos is organized under the scope of Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW) World Tour – the FIFA-recognized entity behind the creation and growth of Beach Soccer, and aims is to have a strategic role in development of Beach soccer in Nigeria.
Barcelona, who are the Spanish giants will face three Nigerian clubs namely, Stationery Stores, Pepsi Academy, and Enyimba in the three day competition in Lagos.
The competition will be played in a Round-Robin format (League Format), allowing in this way the opportunity for each team to prove themselves against all participants during the three days of competition.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Beach Soccer team who are the defending champions after winning the first three edition will face serious competition this year from three other African countries.
Senegal, who participated in last year’s edition will return to Nigeria this December, and will face Ghana and Ivory Coast who are debutants.
This year’s Copa Lagos Beach Soccer championship will kickoff on the 12th of December, and ends on the 14th at the Eko Atlantic Beach, Lagos.
