Abuja, – Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma, President, Concerned Bauchi Citizens for Good Governance, has expressed displeasure about the operation of a public property recovery committee set up by the state government.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday, he alleged that the committee had been using force through armed security agents to recover vehicles.
“The government instructed security agents to forcefully recover vehicles that were legally allocated to former civil servants and former commissioners.
“These are vehicles that have been with the beneficiaries for more than three years with the approval of the former governor,” he said.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560″]
Danjuma expressed concerns that instead of going through the courts, the government used armed security agents against the beneficiaries.
According to him, such action may cause a breakdown of law and order in the state.
“There is an arm of government — the judiciary — which is supposed to adjudicate in such matters.
“These beneficiaries have treasury receipts and other documents to back up their purchase of these vehicles,’’ he said in the statement.
He called on President Muhamadu Buhari to urgently wade into the matter to avoid disrupting the peace and order in the state.(NAN)
