Bauchi- Bauchi State Deputy Governor-elect Nuhu Gidado says he will maintain a cordial working relationship with the Governor-elect, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar.
Gidado told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Thursday that he would continuously accord his boss his due respect.
Gidado spoke against the backdrop of unpleasant relationship between some governors and their deputies in the past.

“He tells me exactly the way it is, and I advise him the way it is, and he takes it, so I think and I know, (there is) no two ways about it, by the special will of God, this will be something different this time around.

“If you think some other people could not achieve it (cordial relationship), we are determined to achieve it.
“I will continuously respect him for who he is, and not that he is the governor, I will continuously respect him for being my principal and I think, I am happy and extremely happy and even getting to know him much better, officially today and I am not disappointed.’’

According to him, he has read and heard a lot about the unpleasant relationship between some governors and their deputies in the country.
Gidado said that he had known the governor-elect for decades, adding he considered him more like a brother.
“This is somebody that I have known for decades and called my brother over decades, this is somebody that called me out of so many interest groups and individuals, and requested me to come on board and work with him.’’
He said that he would ensure that there was no friction between them by maintaining the brotherly relationship that had existed between them for years. (NAN)
