“It has come to the knowledge of Bauchi State Police Command that some desperate politicians are planning to announce the results of election before the official announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), in order to incite disturbance of public peace in the state.
“To this end, members of the public are urged to disregard any announcement emanating from any quarter other than the Independent National Electoral Commission, and be law- abiding.
“The command further warns that it will deal decisively with any individual or group of individuals who are bent on causing disturbance of public peace in the state.
“Finally, the general public are advised to be on the lookout and report any suspicious person to the nearest police station, or call the police distress numbers for prompt response,” said the command. (NAN)
