Bauchi Road Projects Will Fast-track Transformation Of State, Says Commissioner

Bauchi  –  Bauchi State Commissioner for Information and Tourism, Alhaji Abdullahi Idris, said on Friday that the massive road projects being embarked upon  was propelled by the desire of the  government to fast-track the transformation of  the state.

He told newsmen in Bauchi that the roads within the state capital, especially at the exit points, were not befitting for a state capital.

“When you are coming into the state capital, the entrance and exit roads do not depict Bauch as a state capital.

“The governor has the intention to dualize all major roads linking Bauchi with other states,” he said.

Edrees said that though some of the roads were of the Federal Government, the state government saw it wise to rehabilitate and make them more motor able for the people of the state.

“We want to tell our people that this is just a tip of the iceberg as more projects will be executed for the benefit of the people.

“All the about 20 road projects are in phase one and we intend to launch phase two, which will cover many local governments and rural feeder roads,” he said.
