Twenty-six of the 29-member executive council ostensibly loyal to the former state governor and APC governorship candidate in the last election, Chief Timipre Sylva said the crisis in the state chapter of the party was being sponsored by elements of the Peoples Democratic Party with the aim of destroying the party in the state.
Speaking on the alleged role of Timi Frank in the brewing crisis, the state organising secretary of the party, Tonye Okio, said Timi Frank has never participated in the politics of the state and as such cannot claim to be one of its leaders.
Okio said: “Timi Frank is from Bayelsa State by birth. But politically, he is not from Bayelsa because the position he is occupying was not zoned to our state.
”He jobs around Abuja polticians and pretend to speak as a leader of any party he joins. This time around, we implore the general public, especially the national leadership of the party to be cautious with his antics.
”We know those sponsoring the disgruntled trio of the suspended chairman, his deputy and secretary, and obviously Timi Frank is their go between but they will fail. As for Timi Frank, he is on his own.
”As far as we are concerned, the trio remain suspended and no amount of blackmail will distract the leadership of the party”, he said at the APC national secretariat while submitting a copy of the suspension letter signed letter to the national leadership of the party.
