Abuja (Sundiata Post) — With less than one week for the curtains to be drawn on the Big Brother Naija (#BBNaija) reality show, facts have emerged that the sum of N330,000,000 was raked in by the organisers of the the TV reality show that has kept millions of Nigerians spellbound.
This is against the backdrop that the housemates, who were nominated for eviction from the Big Brother Naija reality show last week, received a cumulative 11 million votes.
The total votes that were cast were disclosed by the host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, during Sunday’s live eviction show.
“The housemates got a total of 11 million votes this week alone,” Obi-Uchendu said.
The housemates included: TBoss, Bobai Bally Balat, Marvis and Debie-Rise.
To vote for a Big Brother housemate costs N30 per attempt.
Although millions of Africans across the continent tune into the show on a daily basis, only Nigerians are allowed to vote.
With each Nigerian parting with the sum of N30 per vote, the 11 million Nigerians, altogether, parted with the sum of N330 million during last week’s eviction.

Bally was eventually evicted from the House, after the votes were cast.
Below is how the nominated housemates fared: TBoss – 26.49 percent, Debie-Rise – 25.36 percent, Marvis – 24.40 percent, and Bally – 23.76 percent.
After receiving the lowest number of votes, Bally became the 11th housemate to be evicted from the show.
Only last week, he had received the highest number of votes from the public, with 30.24 percent of the total votes cast.
Following his eviction, it was announced that no other housemate will be sent home until the end of the show.
The above decision means that Efe (the last standing male in the House), Bisola, Marvis, TBoss and Debie-Rise are the remaining five finalists.
The eventual winner will get a prize money of N25 million and an automobile.
The ongoing show is regarded as the most popular Big Brother competition to ever air on Nigerian television – owing to the high level of engagement, voting and followership.
It is not clear, however, if WeChat might reduce the total cash made by Big Brother Naija this week.
Although this week’s final votes are expected to be more than 30 million.
