ABUJA – A five-man contingent of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) on Saturday left Nigeria for Tunisia to participate in the CAVB Male and Female World Beach Volleyball qualifying series.
Charkuma Ismail, the coach of the national male and female beach volleyball teams, said this when he spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.
Ismail said the contingent comprises four players and an accompanying referee — Goodluck Anyasodike, Sam Godwin, Priscilla Agera, Sabella Eyesoneta –respectively.
NAN reports that the male and female national teams are expected to participate in the qualifying series scheduled to hold from Feb. 15 to Feb. 19 in Tunis, Tunisia.
“A five-man contingent of the national male and female teams left the country today for Tunisia to participate in the qualifiers.

“And the contingent has four players, two male and two female with one accompanying referee,’’ Ismail said.
He, however, expressed optimism that the team would qualify in spite of the limited time they had for preparations.
“We resumed camping for the qualifiers one week ago and the players tried by putting in their best during this period.
“But we were not able to finish the outlined programmes we were supposed to go through in the training because we had limited time.
“We had to concentrate on the endurance training and some skills training.
“But with the little we were able to do, I am sure the players will do us proud when they get to Tunisia. I believe so much in them,’’ Ismail said.(NAN)
