Time is running out for Bello Turji, a notorious bandit commander, as reports confirm that one of his close allies, bandit kingpin Baleri Fakai, has been killed by joint security forces.
Fakai and 30 other terrorists were neutralized in Maru Local Government Area, Zamfara State.
Former Presidential aide, Bashir Ahmed, also shared the news on his X account, saying, “WONDERFUL: It has been confirmed that the joint security forces have eliminated the notorious bandit leader Baleri Fakai, along with 30 other terrorists, in Maru, Zamfara state. Baleri Fakai was a close ally to murderer Bello Turji, who will be joining him soon, in Sha Allah.”
This comes just days after Nigerian Army troops killed another bandit commander, Kachallah Buzu, and his fighters on September 12 in Mayanchi village, Zamfara. Buzu, a superior to Turji, was killed in an ambush by military forces. Another terrorist, Sani Wala Burki, was also killed in Katsina, and troops freed 13 kidnapped students in Kaduna during a separate operation.
According to Politics Nigeria, Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, stated that time is running out for Turji and other bandits, as security forces are determined to end the violence in Zamfara and the North West.
