Makurdi – The Benue Government on Tuesday urged revenue collecting firms to review their revenue collection method and ensure prompt remittance to government’s coffer.
The Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources in Benue, Mr James Anbua, made the call in Makurdi while briefing Chief Executive Officers of revenue collecting firms in the state.
The commissioner noted that the firms needed to fashion out ways that could assist the ministry in its revenue generation.

He stated that revenue generation in the state needed to be stepped up because the present administration inherited virtually empty treasury.
Anbua warned that the era where revenue collection firms were not remitting money to the government coffer was over.
He maintained that he cannot stay and watch firms short changing the ministry and the government.
The commissioner admonished Local Government Council Chairmen in the state to desist from harassing revenue collecting firms in their domains. (NAN
