Abuja (Sundiata Post) – Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokro has blasted the Plateau State Governor, Solomon Lalong of being extremely insensitive to have blamed Governor Ortom’s anti-grazing law for the Fulani herdsmen killings of Benue people.
Reno who took to his twitter handle “@renoomokri” in reaction to the claim by Governor Lalong that the anti-grazing law passed by Benue State necessitated the killing by fulani herdsmen, wondered if Benue is meant to make laws for the convenience of non indegenous herdsmen rather than its own citizen and residents.
According to Reno, “It’s extremely insensitive for the Plateau state Governor, Solomon Lalong, to blame Governor Ortom’s anti-grazing law for the Fulani herdsmen killings of Benue people. Is Benue meant to make laws for the convenience of non indigenous herdsmen or its own citizens and resident?”
Sundiata Post recalls that Governor Solomon Lalong had on Thursday, while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after a closed -door meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the States House Abuja, said he earlier advised the governors of Taraba and Benue against implementing the anti-grazing law in their respective states.
Lalong however, admitted that ranching remained the only way to guarantee peaceful farmers-herdsmen coexistence in the country.
