ABUJA (Sundiata Post) A friend on this platform, Ajibola Olayiwola Sobodu, tagged me a post yesterday or a Fulani girl in Osun.
The constant spin being put on the herdsmen killings by Buhari handlers and his supporters shows how little they know about conflicts, their instigators and their resolution.
Let me remind these conflict resolution illiterates: CONFLICTS (which may involve killings and destruction of properties) ARE PART OF HUMAN EXISTENCE. THEY ARE AS OLD AS HUMANITY!
No society is immune from it. From Myanmar to Mexico; from Turkey to France; from Kenya to Tunisia, there are so many flashpoints all over the world. The issue is this: HOW DO YOU SHOW LEADERSHIP IN HANDLING CONFLICTS?
For instance, the Myanmar authorities are not being blamed because of the killings of Rohingya muslims in Rakhine State but for the way THEY HAVE HANDLED THE KILLINGS.
Aung San Suu Kyi, the Burmese leader who spent 15 years under house arrest and who won the Nobel Prize for Peace due to her pro-democracy activism, is now being pummelled for her silence over the Rohingya killings.
Therefore, no one is actually blaming Buhari for Fulani herdsmen killings. HE IS BEING BLAMED FOR HIS HANDLING OF THE CRISIS!
Rather than dealing decisively with it, they have been pulling one stupid spin after the other. Check these out:
DSS: Killers are foreigners.
Miyetti Allah: Killers were our people whose cows were stolen.
Islamic Body: Over 100 Fulanis too were killed in Mambilla Plateau in Adamawa. (so it might be reprisal killings)
Garba Shehu: Looters are using killings to embarrass government.
Buhari: Please, accommodate Fulani herdsmen as brothers.
When you have a bunch of charlatans and low minds who will never rise up and take responsibility, this is the result.
Ironically, there are equally enough illiterates to defend them.
Note: Sobodu, my “aboki” is equally Fulani and has spent his entire adult life in Lagos. So it is NOT about us, but about the lack of idea of the man most you venerate as a god.
