PORT HARCOURT (Sundiata Post) – The Rivers State Government has said its attention has been drawn to a media statement in which the leadership of the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) engaged in destructive politics on the issue of pro-Biafra protests already banned in the state by Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.
A statement sent to Sundiata Post by Simeon Nwakaudu, special assistant, media to the governor said “It is disheartening that the Rivers State APC and their leaders have no limitations in their quest to engage in destructive politics, using falsehood as a tool.
“For the umpteenth time, we reiterate that the Rivers State Government dissociates itself from all forms of secessionist protests and the State remains an integral part of the nation. Governor Wike has banned all forms of street protests and it is illegal for anyone to attempt inciting members of the public through concocted injurious falsehood.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”70560”]”Right thinking Nigerians should ask why the Rivers State APC leaders are unhappy with the firm stance of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike against the continuation of the secessionist protests?
“The Rivers State APC must desist from playing politics with the unity of the nation, as it is unpatriotic to do so.
“Governor Wike’s state-wide broadcast which was done after extensive consultation with security agencies and stakeholders is worthy of commendation and should not be subject to pedestrian politics.
“As the most outstanding governor in the country in terms of infrastructural, economic and social development, Governor Wike will continue to focus on the need of the people at all times.”
