Former Giwa FC head coach, Abdul Bidemi Biffo has said the Glo Premier League newcomers will emerge winners of the 2014 Federation Cup on 16 August in Lagos.
The Jos-based side are due to clash against Cup holders Enyimba in the semifinal tie slated for the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta today.
Biffo said Giwa FC will surely overcome Enyimba’s challenge and will head to the final to play against former champions, Dolphins.
“Giwa FC won’t only be playing in the final but will be lifting the Federation Cup trophy on 16 August in Lagos.
“I’m proud of the team and what they’ve achieved so far in their shortest stint in the nation’s biggest competition as well as in the league.
“Even while I was leaving the team I knew they’re destined for great things, I’m sure by the time they unsettle Enyimba in tomorrow’s (Thursday) semifinal, people are bound to give them more respect.[eap_ad_2]
“I’ve no doubt in my mind that they’ll defeat Enyimba. They’ve played the side twice in the ongoing league, picked a point in Aba and three points in Jos.
“Right now it’s Enyimba who should be scared of Giwa FC and not the other way round.
“I foresee a Dolphins versus Giwa FC final while the Tin City side will triumph ultimately at the last day,” said the Nigeria National League (NNL) side, Kogi United, coach to supersport.com.
Biffo guided the side to earn promotion to the elite league and oversaw their debut campaign before being replaced by veteran coach Kadiri Ikhana, now with Enyimba. (supersport.com)[eap_ad_3]
