LAGOS (Sundiata Post) – Nigerian singer Babalola Oluwagbemiga Gabriel, widely known as Bigiano, has opened up about a major career decision he now deeply regrets.
Speaking during a recent episode of the One One podcast, Bigiano revealed that at the peak of his success with the hit song Shayo, he was invited to join the iconic Mo’Hits Records by co-founder Don Jazzy, but he declined.
The singer said his refusal was influenced by his confidence as an independent artist, fueled by the success of Shayo.
“This is emotional for me,” he admitted. “When Shayo was trending, my friend D’banj introduced me to Sunday Are and later took me to the Mo’Hits mansion. Don Jazzy, D’banj, Sunday Are, and Wande Coal were all there. Don Jazzy asked if I wanted to join Mo’Hits. But instead of saying yes, I felt I had already made it on my own and said no.”
Reflecting on that decision, Bigiano expressed regret, noting that being part of the Mo’Hits crew could have significantly changed the trajectory of his music career.
“If I had accepted the offer, it would have been a huge boost because Mo’Hits was known for lifting each other up. I regret that choice,” he said.
