Ibadan- A cleric, Bishop Victor Adelakun, on Sunday charged the Nigerian youth and mothers to direct their energies to serving God and the country in 2015.

Adelakun, who is the General Overseer of the Victory International Church, Rehoboth Cathedral, Ibadan, gave the charge during the New Year Thanksgiving Service of the church.

The bishop, who described the youth as future leaders of the nation, advised them to channel all their energy into serving their motherland meritoriously.

The cleric also charged mothers to pay attention to the moral being and welfare of their children and spouses adding that they were nation builders and pillars of the homes.

He decried situations where mothers pursed their careers at the expense of their homes.

“As mothers, you should not abandon the children in pursuit of your careers, because the children may be perilous and the solid foundation of a good home would be jettisoned.

“A decent, dutiful mother must be able to combine home-building with her career,’’ the cleric said.

In his sermon with the topic: “Thanksgiving is good”, Adelakun said that it was a good thing to thank God always.
