Boko Haram: Obasanjo’s son dicharged from hospital due to security concerns

Lt. Colonel Adeboye Obasanjo, who was injured in a firefight with Boko Haram insurgents last weekend in Adamawa State, has been discharged from the Federal Medical Center after receiving treatment for two days.

The Daily Trust reported that Lt. Col. Obasanjo was released from the Yola Federal Medical Centre earlier than expected and partly due to security concerns given the high profile of his family. [eap_ad_1] The story of Lt. Col. Obasanjo’s injury in Adamawa State broke on Monday as he led a platoon of soldiers in attempting to dislodge Boko Haram militants’ control of the town of Bazza.

Despite assurances from the Nigerian Armed Forces today that Boko Haram fighters were being attacked by a coordinated aerial bombing campaign by Nigeria’s air force, it remains to be seen whether the terrorist group’s objective of taking Borno’s capital, Maiduguri, will be thwarted.
