ABUJA – The National Association of Nigerian Traders (NANT) on Friday expressed happiness that the Federal Government and Boko Haram insurgents have entered into a ceasefire agreement.
The President of the association, Mr Ken Ukuoha, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the ceasefire is a welcome development given the activities of the group.
The Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, on Friday in Abuja announced the ceasefire between the federal government troops and Boko Haram insurgents.

He made the announcement at the close of a three-day coordinating conference of Nigeria-Cameroon trans-border military operations.
Ukuoha told NAN that the menace of Boko Haram had paralysed economic activities in the North Eastern part of the country.
He said that such development would go a long way in restoring life into trading activities in the area.
He said the north east was strategic to the economic well being of the country as it was the link to the markets of many West African countries and Cameroon.
Ukuoha called on Boko Haram members and the federal government to ensure that the ceasefire agreement was done in good faith. (NAN)
