Borno govt awards N3.6b contract for state university

– The Borno government on Wednesday said it had awarded a N3.6 billion contract for the construction five faculties and senate building at the proposed State University .

Gov. Kashim Shettima stated this at an interactive session .

Shettima said the project expected be completed before the end the year, adding the aim world class structure would enable the university take off smoothly.

“We are a haste start the university because we believe certain fundamental issues must be addressed before its take off.

“Our plan is to establish a world class university that can stand the test time in all ramifications because anything worth doing is worth doing well.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]

“We are interested in establishing a glorified secondary as the case in most state .

“We want to set up a university that has befitting physical structures and standard facilities that can be addressed as truly world class.’’

Shettima said the state government would seek for accreditation from the National Commission (NUC) in the third quarter of this year when the project would have been completed.

Shettima said the university would take off immediately after accreditation. (NAN)
