ABUJA – Mike Umeh, the first Vice-Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) on Wednesday urged the Super Eagles to surpass their previous World Cup record at the mundial in Brazil.
Umeh told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that although no target was set for the team, they should be able to do better than they had done in the past.
“We want them to improve on the previous records we had at the World Cup.
“If they improve on that, then it’s a plus; that’s what we are praying for and more so that they are playing as African champions.
“With that at the back of their minds, I am sure that they are going to surpass any record set by any African team.“
He noted that the friendly played against Greece and the one against U.S., for June 7 would put the team in the right frame of mind for the global football fiesta. (NAN
