Breaking:Saraki Says Attempt to Illegally Overthrow NASS Leadership a Show of Shame

Abuja {Sundiata Post} – Senate President Dr.Bukola Saraki has described the attempt to illegally overthrow  the leadership of  National Assembly as a show of shame.

 

He said this during World Press briefing coming a day after the National Assembly was invaded and taken over by masked men of Department of States Services {DSS}, and prevented the lawmakers, their aides, journalists and workers from gaining access into the premises of the Assembly.

The siege which was allegedly ordered to provide cover and grant  access to the chambers for some members not happy with the leadership of the Assembly but suspected to be loyal and doing the bidding of the ruling All Progressives Congress {APC}, to forcefully effect change in  leadership of the legislature.

 

However, the presidency which denied knowledge of the incident, swiftly reacted to the illegality perpetrated by the men  of DSS by ordering the immediate removal of the Director General, Mr. Lawal Daura.

 

Saraki commended the lawmakers who rose to the occasion and ensured that the lockdown of the national assembly was discontinued.

 

He called on the President Muhammadu Buhari to signed the 2018 electoral bill which he initiated.

 

Bukola Saraki reminded that himself and Hon Speaker, Yakubu Dogara are not desperate to remain in power at all cost, adding that they are willing to quite as soon as two-third of their membership are no longer have confidence in them.
