Breaking: Borishade Passes On At 71

Abuja (Sundiata Post) Former Minister of Aviation, Prof Babalola Borishade, has  dead at the age 71.

He died in London on Wednesday of lungs and heart related ailment.

Before his death, Borishade was reported to have fallen sick last week in his Lagos home and was rushed to Reddington Hospital before he was taken to Lagos for proper medical care.

Borishade,  former Director General of ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar campaign organisation in the All Pregressives Congress was removed as Minister of Aviation  after the ADC Airlines flight 53 crashed in October 2006. The pressure on President Olusugun Obasanjo to remove Borishade led to his redeployment to another department.

Borishade was born in Usi- Ekiti on March 7, 1946 into the Ebi Ilotin Family.

He served in different capacities and was given the National Honour of Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, CFR, in recognition of his more than three decades of service to Nigeria.
