Abuja (Sundiata Post) — The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has released the former New Media Director to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deji Adeyanju, hours, after he was arrested, on Friday.

Adeyanju, who was arrested at the Unity Fountain in Abuja, with another leader of the movement, Brian Jonah Dennis, while leading a peaceful protest against the Federal Government, however, remained undaunted, saying that protest must go on.

“Released. I have told them (police) that the protests will continue. We will not STOP and we will not be cowed.

“We will announce a new date for the #SayNoToSecretTrial.

“On Monday we will do #FreeAustinOkai and #FreeKemiOlunloyo.

“I want to thank everyone for the support. Thank you!!!” he wrote on his Facebook wall.

It would be recalled that Adeyanju was arrested with another leader of the movement, Brian Jonah Dennis, while leading a peaceful protest against the Federal Government.

No reason has been given for their arrest.

But it would be recalled that Adeyanju has been championing the #NoToSecretTrial for Nnamdi Kanu on the social media.

As the protest began on Friday morning, Adeyanju, in a series of tweets, claimed that all entrances to the Unity Fountain were barricaded by men of the NPF before he was whisked away by the officers.

Here are the tweets:

“I am at the Unity Fountain and Officers of The Nigerian police are trying to stop me from entering the Unity Fountain park

“Over 300 Police officers have manned the Unity Fountain to stop the #NoToSecretTrial procession for Nnamdi Kanu.

“All entrances to the Unity Fountain have been barricaded by officers of the Nigerian Police.

“Arrested,” (which came by 8:34 a.m.)
