Breaking: INEC Suspends Electoral Process in Rivers State

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the suspension of electoral process in Rivers State.

The suspension according the commission, was based on reports of widespread disruption of elections conducted on the 9th day of March In the state.

INEC directed the suspension after a meeting on Sunday in a statement signed by the National Commissioner Chairman, Information and voters Education Committee, Mr Festus Okoye made available to newsmen.

According to the statement, the decision is in compliance with section 26 of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended and clause 47(e) of the regulations and Guidelines of the commission.
