ABUJA— There are indications that the embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Muazu has resigned as chairman of the party following strong pressure from party leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party that he must go.
It is believed that the Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondu is now acting as national chairman according to a letter written by Muazu to the party Tuesday night.
According to a PDP source Muazu asked Secondus to step in as acting National Chairman in line with the party’s constitution.
Mu’azu is being accused of having led the party in a poor outing at the March/April general elections but he has debunked such allegations saying that the “know it all” attitude of the governors and other leaders of the party worked against the fortunes of the PDP. (Per Second News)
