Abuja (Sundiata Post)- The Police on Wednesday arrested Senator Ovie Omo-Agege immediately after the senate”s adjournment of plenary.
Sundiata Post recalls that the Senate last week suspended the Delta central senator for accusing the senate of targeting President Muhammadu Buhari in the election re-ordering bill.
However, Omo-Agege who also attended plenary today in defiance to his suspension by the senate, was also accused of masterminding the invasion and subsequent stealing of the mace by hoodlums.
This allegation was contained in a statement by the spokesman of the senate, senator Abdullahi Sabi released shortly after the invasion of the senate by hoodlums.
The senate which described the action as treason also charged security agencies to collaborate and ensure that the mace recovered from the hoodlums.
Senator Omo-Agege was whisked away by the police men who were waiting for him to come out of the hallowed chamber.
