Abuja (Sundiata Post) — The Nasarawa State Police Command, on Friday afternoon, mounted a heavy stern-looking police roadblock on the Keffi-Abuja highway to forestall any form of destruction, as Hausa residents in Mararaba community take to the streets to celebrate President Muhammadu Buhari’s return to the country, after 51 days of absence from office.
Buhari’s return had sent his supporters into wild jubilation in some parts of the country, including his home state, Katsina.
Mararaba community, which borders Nasarawa State with Abuja, is not left out, as scores of Hausa residents in Mararaba took to the streets to celebrate the President’s return.
The jubilant Hausa residents caused serious traffic gridlock on the Keffi-Abuja highway.

However, the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in the State promptly went into action to prevent the jubilant Hausa residents from entry the Nyanya community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja, and causing havoc from their jubilation.
The Police mounted a stop-and-search at the point, where there is a “welcome to Nasarawa” inscription on three pillars on the road.
Sundiata Post reports that the policemen were not looking friendly, as they brandished their riffles and teargas canisters, ready to quell any negative move by the jubilant Hausa residents.
It would be recalled that Buhari had left the country in January on an earlier scheduled medical vacation, which he extended indefinitely over his medical reports, and based on advice from his medical doctors.
Buhari, who during his medical vacation in the UK had played host to top Nigerians within the government and within the All Progressive Party (APC), arrived at about 4 a.m. on Friday.
He arrived at the Kaduna International Airport due to the closure of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport in Abuja for maintenance.
He was, thereafter, airlifted to the Presidential villa in Abuja via helicopter.
Buhari has since promised to re-dedicate himself to serving Nigerians, protecting their interests, and keeping their trust.
He, however, hinted on a possible return to London for more health checkups.
“I am feeling much better now; there may, however, be need to have further follow-ups within some weeks,” Buhari said.
