Plateau State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Sam Galadima, is dead.

He was said to have slumped early Wednesday morning at the Rwang Pam Stadium, Jos while Governor Simon Lalong and members of the state executive council were observing the regular weekly walk-out. He was said to have been rushed to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital where he died.

Galadima was among 17 other commissioners who were inaugurated on December 16, last year.

His death came less than one month after the deputy chief of Staff to the Governor, Gambo Hawaja, died.

Galadima, who was of the Afizere stock, hailed from Jos East Local Government of the state. He had served as commissioner for works during the tenure of Chief Joshua Dariye.

Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Governor, Mr. Samuel Nanle, confirmed the development to Sundiatapost in an interview on Wednesday.

He said that he was slumped while the exercise was going on and was gasping for breath before he was rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention.

Nanle said, “he suddenly slumped at the stadium where the governor and members of his cabinet usually observe the weekly keep-fit exercise. Initially he was not looking bad as the exercise continued after he was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately he did not make it.

He described Galadima death as unfortunate and a loss for the people of the state.
