Nigeria Police has stated that late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, began vomiting and developed goosebumps after he was injected three times by a nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, on September 12, 2023.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Idowu Owohunwa, made this known at a press briefing on Friday at the state Command headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos, while giving preliminary reports of investigation conducted by the police team to unravel the circumstance that led to the death of Mohbad.
The commissioner who said a total of 26 witnesses have been interviewed as of Friday, said those interrogated include Mohbad’s father, mother, sisters, brother, wife and manager among several others.
The CP said Mohbad was brought in dead to the hospital, and he was certified dead by doctors on duty on September 12. Adding that the nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe, who was invited by Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sodiq aka Spending, to inject the singer at his residence, administered three injections believed to have led to the chain of reactions that eventually led to the singer’s death.
“Mohbad began vomiting and developed goosebumps after the injections,” Owohunwa said.
He identified Ms Feyisayo Ogedengbe, an auxiliary nurse, as the prime suspect in Mohbad’s death, while Naira Marley, Sam Larry, Primeboy, and one other have been named suspects.
Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12 at the age of 27. His death has since become a subject of controversy as old videos of the Afrobeats singer alleging bullying and physical assault resurfaced.
“Five suspects have so far been identified, arrested, detained, and interrogated on their alleged roles in the sequence of events that led to the death of the singer,” the Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, in a press briefing on Friday.
He added that Ogedengbe administered “multiple and highly potent” injections to the Mohbad, whose real name is Ilerioluwa Aloba.
