SOKOTO – A member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, Ahaji Bello Goronyo (APC-Goronyo), on Wednesday said the parliament would focus on uncompleted projects while considering the state’s 2015 budget.
Goronyo spoke at the resumption of the assembly from its 46-day recess.
Goronyo said that the aim of the assembly in considering the projects was based on the need for the government alleviate the people’s suffering.
He said”the house resumed from it’s 46 days of recess after the members performed pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia and celebrated Sallah.
He expressed gratitude to the people and the state government for their continuous support to the assembly.
Responding, the House Leader, Alhaji Abubakar Buda (APC-Dange/Shuni), said the recess gave an opportunity to the members to assess their weaknesses and make efforts to correct them.
He said the recess was utilised appropriately by the members in knowing their areas, as well as the direction of the 2015 budget to be deliberated upon.
The Speaker, Alhaji Lawalli Zayyana who welcomed the members from the recess, assured the public that the house would continue consider public interest in its deliberations. (NAN)
