Buenos Aires –  Buenos Aires has been named as the most livable city in Latin America, according to the latest global survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit, an independent business unit within the Economist Group.
Buenos Aires was listed on top of the Unit’s annual livability ranking for Latin America, ranking 62 out of 140 surveyed cities globally, local media reported Thursday.
It was followed among Latin American cities by Santiago (63), Chile (64) and San Juan, Puerto Rico (67), the daily reported.

The survey looked at the livability criteria, healthcare, education, stability, culture, environment and infrastructure.
“Latin American cities get great marks in the area of culture and environment, but not so much in stability,” the report quoted one of the survey’s editors, Jon Copestake, as saying.
The newspaper credited Buenos Aires’s extensive and varied cultural offering for its high score in quality of life surveys.
Australian city Melbourne is ranked as the most livable city in the world, followed by Austrian capital Vienna, Canada’s Vancouver and Toronto, according to the survey. (Xinhua/NAN)
