Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday flagged off the e-Nigeria conference awards 2019 in Abuja.

The two-day conference with the theme: “Achieving A National Digital Economy” is organised by the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy in conjunction with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, in his address, chronicled down the achievements of his ministry which include but not limited to the over 9.2 million SIM cards which were either normalised, blocked or deactivated in less than 40 days due to improper registration.

He also urged Nigerians to ensure that their phones are properly registered, adding that as a government, our priority is to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

He praised the president for his support and encouragement, saying there are other steps being taken by the president that would further promote the nation’s economy through job creation, development of infrastructures and capacity building of the workforce.
