A pressure group, the Oriental Media Forum (OMF), has said that going by his University of Cambridge West African School Certificate Examination statement of result released to the public last week, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flag bearer, Muhammadu Buhari, lacks the necessary [pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]foundation to lead a country in the 21st century.
According to the president of the organisation, Maduabuchi Nweke, “Though there are genuine grounds to doubt the authenticity of the result, especially going by the name on the statement of result – Mohammed Buhari instead of Muhammadu Buhari – and the very fact that University of Cambridge has come out to say that Hausa Language, in which Buhari had credit according to is statement of result, was not listed among the subjects taken by students in 1961, if the result is accepted as genuine, it is still bad enough as somebody who had F9 in Mathematics would not be able to understand the complexity of a modern economy, let alone manage it.”
Nweke in the statement issued Tuesday in Lagos said that going by the statement of result, Buhari performed woefully in all the subjects that are needed to operate in the 21st century, namely, Mathematics, Woodwork, which could go for creativity, and English Literature.
According to the OMF chairman, it is this lack of creativity that kept Buhari from venturing into private enterprise like most of his colleagues who retired from the military and went into farming and other vocations, through which they have been supporting the nation’s GDP and creating employment.
His words: “Gen. Buhari is antiquated. He does not have what it takes to run a 21st century economy. If we allow somebody who had F9 in Mathematics to be our president, what message are we sending to our children? How can we encourage them to work hard on their studies when with F9 in Mathematics somebody can become president?”
Nweke appealed to Nigerians “to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan, who is in tune with modernity.” He added that “no amount of packaging would bring Buhari in line with the current time as he is rigid and, worst of all, has a very poor educational foundation as his statement of result has shown.”
