ABUJA (Sundiata Post) – The last National Council of State meeting presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan had all former Heads of State in attendance at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who was the only former head of state conspicuously absent at the beginning of the meeting at 11.30am, later joined the meeting.
Other former heads of state at the meeting include Gen. Yakubu Gowon; Alhaji Shehu Shagari; President-elect Gen. Muhammadu Buhari; Gen. Ibrahim Babangida; Chief Ernest Shonekan and General Abdusalami Abubakar.
Former Chief Justices of Nigeria present were Muhammadu Lawal Uwais, Alfa Belgore and Idris Kutigi.
Vice President Namadi Sambo; Senate President, David Mark; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim; National Security Adviser (NSA), Colonel Sambo Dasuki; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed and Attorney General of the Federation ( AGF), Mohmammed Adoke were also at the meeting.

State governors at the meeting are Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Olusegun Mimiko (Ondo), Aliyu Wamakko (Sokoto), Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers), Ramalan Yero (Kanuda), Sarieke Dickson (Bayelsa), James Ngilari (Adamawa), Tanko Almakura(Nasarawa), Gabriel Suswam(Benue).
Others are Martin Elechi (Ebonyi), Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom), Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Jonah Jang (Plateau) Liyel Imoke(Cross River), Emmanuel Udughan and Acting governor of Taraba State.
States that were represented by their deputy governors include Kano, Kogi, Oyo, Yobe.
Opening Christian and Muslim prayers were said by the governors of Cross Rivers and Kaduna states respectively.
