Buhari Pays unscheduled visit to Kuje Prison

Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the Nigeria Correctional Centre, Kuje in the Federal Capital Territory.

His visit followed the Boko Haram attack on the prison facility by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents where several terrorists and other inmates were freed.Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Mister Shuaibu Belgore has confirmed that about 600 inmates escaped from the Kuje Correctional Centre following last night’s attack by suspected terrorists.

During a visit to the facility, he explains that over 300 of the inmates have been retrieved and more are on the way.
