Buhari re-election, beacon of hope for better Nigeria – retired Gen. Bajowa

Akure – Major-Gen. Olu Bajowa (rtd) has described the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari as a beacon of hope for better Nigeria.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Buhari was re-elected in Feb. 23 Presidential election, having got 15,191,847 votes to beat his closest rival, Abubakar Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 11,262,978 votes.

Bajowa, the Chairman of the Legacy Forum, a unit of the Buhari Support Organisation (BSO), said this while speaking with NAN on Wednesday in Akure.

He said that with the mantra of Next Level of the All Progressives Congress and Buhari as helmsman of the presidency, Nigeria would witness tremendous transformation while Buhari would ensure that the masses have stake and benefit from the good of the country.

The retired General said that the president would not disappoint Nigerians, stressing that “Buhari is a man of his words.“

“The President is a man of integrity and he will not renege on his promises for the betterment of Nigerian society.

“If you have observe, all his policies and programmes are geared toward better living and not for a particular set of people.

“Buhari is taking Nigeria out of the claws and control of few elite by ensuring equality so that an average Nigerian can be proud of the country,” he said.

The  chairman of the group said that Buhari, being a very honest and straightforward man, remained the most incorruptible leader ever in the country.

He said the group was impressed with the way Buhari/Osinbajo administration had fought corruption fiercely and sincerely, saying that their re-election would bring overwhelming succour to the polity.

According to him, looting and plundering of the country’s resources no more attractive because Buhari does not tolerate it.

He said that Buhari and his deputy; Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, had moral pedigree that would not allow them to taint their integrity.

According to him, Buhari’s administration has done a lot to reposition the country and put it on the path of progress.

He urged Nigerians to stick to Buhari and support him, more, to move the country to the next level.

Bajowa said the group had been in the forefront of the campaign for sustainability of good governance which he said Buhari’s government stood for. (NAN)
