Abuja (Sundiata Post) – President Muhammadu Buhari has in a brief ceremony received the All Progressives Congress’ presidential expression of interest and nomination form from the Nigeria Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) at Aso Villa.

Disclosing this in his twitter handle @MBuhari, the President Buhari said: “Just now at the State House I was presented with the APC Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms, by the Nigeria Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN). A mixture of familiar faces, as well as new ones, united by a common vision of a secure & prosperous Nigeria.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has pegged the price for its presidential expression of interest and nomination form at forty five million five hundred thousand naira (N45.5m).

Apart from Buhari, others public office holders whose expression of interest and nomination forms have been bought by groups are the governors of Kaduna State and his Kano state counterpart, Danjuma Goje.

Sundiata Post recalls that Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) and four other groups, on Monday, bought a nomination form from the APC for the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, to recontest the governorship election in 2019.

The other groups were the National Association of Road Transport Owners, Traders of Sheikh Mahmud Gummi Market and the Katsina and Daura People’s Association all living in Kaduna and the Petroleum Tankers Drivers Association of Nigeria.

Leader of the group, Alhaji Abbas Likoro presented the nomination form to the governor at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House, Kaduna on Monday.

Also, a support group of President Muhammadu Buhari and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, under the aegis of ‘1 to tell 10,’ in Kano on Monday, purchased a N22.5m governorship nomination/statement of interest form from the APC for the governor.

The coalition of 32 groups made the presentation during a grand ceremony held at the Government House.

The leader of the coalition, Yaguda Abdulaziz, said the youths in the state deemed it necessary to support Ganduje and lauded his achievements in youth empowerment programmes.

Recall that about two weeks ago, precisely on Friday, 31st August, former vice president, Atiku Abubakar received his own form purchased for him by the Atiku Support Groups (ASG).

However, the lawmaker representing Kaduna central senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Shehu Sani has exposed the secret behind the alleged groups’ purchase of forms for aspirants.

According to the Kaduna senator, A group of youth struggling for daily bread approached him that he should permit them to announce that they bought a nomination form for him, as part of the political tradition, but that he politely declined.

Shehu Sani said he told the group that he doesn’t want to be in the league of that deceptive political tradition.

He further revealed that a politician who is his friend gave him a pepper and a Handkerchief to rub on his face so as to shed tears on the plight of the masses when he was collecting and submitting his nomination form. I politely turned him down and told him that I’m an activist and not an actor, he said.
