Warri – Mr Ovo Ofigo, the National Coordinator, Buhari Solidarity Movement, has advised defectors from one party to another to define their desire and how the decisions affect democracy.
Ofigo gave the advice in a statement signed by him on Friday in Warri as a reaction to the recent mass defection among members of the National Assembly from All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He recalled that 14 senators and 37 members of House Representatives defected from APC to PDP.
He stated that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari had performed creditably, noting that the mass defection of the lawmakers lacked genuine basis.
He also said that the anti-corruption drive of Buhari could not be compared with any government in the history of Nigeria’s war against corruption.
“Buhari may not be a saint but I want Nigerians to compare his achievements with other governments before drawing conclusions.
“The anti-corruption drive of President Buhari is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria; other achievements are also noticeable in other spheres of the administration.
“So, those who are bent on destabilising the nation should please look before they leap,’’ he said.
According to him, good leadership is built over time and mature people should be able to monitor such leadership with open mind.
