In those early days, when Buhari handlers and supporters were supposed to be SELLING the man and EXPLAINING his policies, they resorted to name calling. Every critic was (still is) a wailer.
Any time anyone raised a point of order, it was because his or her source of free money had dried up.
Their words:
“They are no longer getting free money. Buhari has blocked their source of livelihood. That’s why they are wailing.”
There was nothing like CONSTRUCTIVE ENGAGEMENT. It was like (still is) every critic, no matter how well-intentioned, was a beneficiary of corruption of PDP era who had lost out.
And since this has been their template, to change it is now a big challenge. Reason? You have to convince Nigerians why Buhari should come that.
And there must be a shift from LANGUAGE of CONFRONTATION to COMMUNICATION of PERSUASION.
And that lies the challenge: changing the old template.
Not gonna be easy…
