Calabar, – The Commissioner for Health in Cross River, Dr Janet Ekpenyong, said the ministry had deployed community mobilisation officers across the state to sensitise the people on diseases associated with the heat season.
Ekpenyong told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Uyo that the state was taking proactive measures to curb the diseases.
She named some of the diseases to include heat rashes, heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke, among others.
“We try as much as possible to be very proactive and engage in sensitisation across the state, especially at the community level.
“The good thing is that we have community mobilisation officers that have been deployed across the state for sensitisation.
“I wish to advise residents in the state to make their houses more ventilated during this period,” she said. (NAN)(
