ABUJA – Pastor Divine Eches, Public Relation Officer, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on Monday advised the National Conference to protect the interest of youths in their deliberations.

Eches told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja that the expectations of youths in the outcome of the conference were high.

“Though, youths are represented, but we are appealing to our leaders and fathers at the conference not to say that their voice could not be heard.

“The conference should bring out reforms in the constitution that would encourage and take care of the interest of the youths.

“They should work on the electoral reforms, empowerment programmes and any other reform that would improve the economy, and enable youths to be independent,’’ Eches said.

He said the country had suffered bad leadership in the past and deserved reforms that would bring out changes in every sector of the country.

Eches, who is the immediate past president of CAN Youth Wing in the South-East, lauded the Federal Government for the success recorded so far at the national conference.

“At the end of the confab, the deserved result would place Nigeria in its rightful place in the comity of nations.

“I hope and pray that the conference would be worthwhile at the state, local and federal levels; and portray the best expected of us,’’ he said. (NAN)
