ILORIN ( Sundiata Post) – Kwara State Governor, Dr Abdulfatah Ahmed has said that the use of card readers during the forthcoming general elections will guarantee credible elections as incidents of electoral malpractices will be checked.
Governor Ahmed stated this when members of Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Producers Association (TAMPPA) paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Ilorin.
Dr Ahmed, who wondered why any democrat will oppose the use of card readers in the forthcoming elections, said “card readers remain the only instrument that will guarantee credibility of the forthcoming elections as it ensures that there are no multiple votes. Why would any one want multiple voting to take place? What they are telling us is that if they don’t want card readers, the government is not about you; it’s about them.”
The Governor advised Nigerians to be very conscious of this and insist that government should be about the people and not about those who are governing.
