ABUJA – A Kado Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Thursday sentenced a 23 -year-old carpenter, Abdulrahman Haruna, to eight months imprisonment for house breaking and theft.
The judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, sentenced the accused to three months for the first-count charge and five months for the second-count charge with no bail option as he admitted committing the offence.
The prosecutor, Insp. Simon Ibrahim, had told the court that Rita Ifua of Plot 178, Maglobal Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja, reported the matter at Gwarimpa Police Station.
Ibrahim said that Haruna broke into the complainant’s house through the wall and stole cable wires valued at N800,000.
The prosecutor said the offence was punishable under sections 353 and 288 of the Penal Code.(NAN)
