Army spokesman Colonel Azem Bermandoa said the fighting happened as Chadian forces carried out mopping up operations around Malam Fatori, a town near Nigeria’s border with Niger that was recently retaken from the militants.
Bermandoa said 16 Chadian troops had also been wounded. (REUTERS)
