BIRNIN KEBBI – Alhaji Musa Danillela, the chairman, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Council in Kebbi state, on Tuesday distributed N592,000 to each of the 296 intending pilgrims from the local government.
Danillela, who led other officials of the council to the state pilgrims’ camp in Birnin Kebbi, said the gesture was aimed at encouraging the prospective pilgrims perform the religious rituals without hitch. [eap_ad_2] He said the council also printed and distributed pamphlets and booklets to the prospective pilgrims to inform them on the rudiments of performing an acceptable Hajj.
He added that the council spent N1million to produce the materials.
The chairman warned the intending pilgrims not carry items such as kola nuts, spices and drugs prohibited in Saudi Arabia.
He commended the state government for hastening the completion of the state owned Ahmadu Bello International Airport which is currently being used for the transportation of pilgrims to the Holy land. (NAN)[eap_ad_3]
