ENUGU – Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has joined other Nigerians to mourn the death of former Supreme Court Judge, Mr Justice Chukwudifu Oputa.
In a message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Chukwudi Achife in Enugu on Monday, Chime described the death as a big loss to the nation.
The governor said the late Oputa was a `quintessential jurist, statesman and patriot’ whose contributions to the advancement of the nation had been phenomenal and exemplary.
He noted that his demise came at a time when the nation needed his wise counsel and vast experience to help it through contemporary challenges.
Chime commiserated with the family of the deceased, the judiciary and the nation at large while praying for the peaceful repose of his soul.
