BEIJING – The Chinese State Council on Monday issued a notice on work safety supervision to the central government’s departments and local governments.
The notice said more efforts should be made to improve laws on safe production and accelerate legislation on mining, fire fighting, road, marine traffic and railway safety.
It also said that safe production standards should be mapped out efficiently implemented.
“The accountability system for work safety should be followed according to the law, and accidents must be investigated and dealt with more strictly.

“Local governments must include safe production and work-related illness into their economic and social development plans,” the notice said.
