BEIJING – China’s top prosecuting body is investigating multiple cases of alleged malpractice, which occurred over the past ten days, including a warehouse blaze in northeast China that killed five firemen.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate (SPP) had vowed to bring those responsible to justice.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
The incidents included the collapse of scaffolding at a construction site at Tsinghua High School in Beijing, which left ten dead and four injured on Dec. 29.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
The statement also noted a factory blast in Foshan, in south China’s Guangdong Province, which killed 18 and injured over 30 on Dec. 31.

It said that there was also a warehouse blaze in Harbin in northeast China on Jan. 2, that killed five firemen and injured 14.[pro_ad_display_adzone id=”10″]
It added that there was another fire in southwest China’s Yunnan Province on Jan. 3, which destroyed Gongchen Tower, an ancient city gate tower that dated back over 600 years.
The SPP has sent staff from its major liability accident investigation office to the related provinces to support the local prosecutors. (Xinhua/NAN)
