Oba Muhammad Yakubu Adebayo Buari, Ilufemiloye II, the Olomu of Omupo Land in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara, has advocated the concept of “One Nation, One Destiny” project.
Buari made the call in a statement signed by Mallam Mustafa Abubakar, the National Publicity Secretary of Omupo Descendants Union (ODU), on Saturday in Ilorin.
He called on Nigerians to believe in the “One Nation, One Destiny” as promoted by the founding father’s of the country.
The traditional ruler also charged all sons and daughters of the kingdom to come together and develop the ancient city.
He underscored the need for peaceful coexistence amongst the citizenry, while charging all residents to see Omupo community as their own by making sure they play their roles always and regularly.
Buari also encouraged those in diaspora to come home and join in the effort to develop the city.
Similarly, Mustafa, the National Publicity Secretary of ODU, has urged all sons and daughters of Omupo Land, to go about their legitimate businesses and other assigned functions, especially during this year’s Yuletide festivals, with their nose mask and other COVID-19 protocols.
He stated that the union has scheduled activities for the Christmas activities tagged “ODU AGM 2021”, to hold on Dec. 28, at the town’s St. Michael Anglican Primary School open field by 11 a.m.
The spokesman urged all Omupo residents to abide by the simple rules, especially when considering the rate at which people are contacting the deadly disease across the country.
Besides, he appealed to the executive of the union to mobilise adequate attendance from their branches to come home for the various activities.
