Rep. Chinedu Ogah, representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, has urged Nigerians across social, cultural and religious divides to shun any act capable of causing disunity and crisis.
Ogah gave the advice in Item-Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area, Ebonyi, on Monday during a Christmas party for constituents.
“We should shun any act capable of causing disunity and crisis while we strive to support our leaders and government of the All Progressives Congress,” he said.
The lawmaker stressed that only genuine love, peace and unity could enthrone peace and development in the nation.
He urged the people to support the Federal Government in improving security infrastructure.
“We should love one another, remain united; we should support the government in power, support President Muhammadu Buhari in his current efforts to reposition the country and Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi in his commitment to quality leadership,” he said.
Ogah said that he was motivated to celebrate the 2021 Christmas with his constituents with a view to putting smiles on their faces.
“We gifted them with customised fathoms of wrappers, worth N7,000, 5 kg bags of rice, condiments and other items.
“We also wanted to use the occasion to thank members of the constituents for their unwavering support, loyalty and solidarity to our party, APC.
“Also, some of them are poor and we believe that by reaching out with the gifts, we will cushion the economic hardship created by the COVID-19 pandemic,” he added.
On the Electoral bill, Ogah said that the leadership of the assembly would deliberate on the issue once it resumes from the recess.
